Sponsoring Organisations
The shareholder resolutions have been formally moved by over 100 shareholders in both the United Kingdom and Australia as is required by law for public companies in each country.
The shareholders have been brought together by five sponsoring organisations. These are the national trade union organisations of Australia, the UK, the United States, the principal mining union in Australia and the international union organisation representing mineworkers worldwide.
It is the first time ever that the trade union movements of several countries have combined in a shareholder campaign.
